Series: Storm Proof: A Study in James
Speaker: Adam Stadtmiller
Book: James
James 3:13-18 sets two kinds of wisdom side by side: one earthly, unspiritual, and demonic, marked by bitter jealousy and selfish ambition, and one from above that is pure, peaceable, gentle, and full of mercy. Pastor Adam opens season two of Storm Proof with a diagnostic for every decision we face: will this action produce righteousness and peace?

Series: The Spirituality of Giving
Speaker: Adam Stadtmiller
Book: 2 Corinthians
Under the New Covenant nothing compels a gift: Paul writes instruction, not command, and verse 7 hands the decision to one settled heart at a time, chosen deliberately and in advance rather than under pressure. Pastor Adam makes the case that verse 10 joins provision and righteousness with a repeated “and” rather than offering a choice between them, argued carefully against his own instinct and against a colleague who reads it differently.

Series: The Spirituality of Giving
Deuteronomy 14 hands generosity a rhythm: a tenth set apart year by year, a feast to rejoice in God’s provision, and a third-year tithe laid up so the Levite, the sojourner, the fatherless, and the widow could eat and be filled. Pastor Adam works through the three shapes of giving under the Mosaic law and makes the case that a settled habit of generosity forms the soul in a way guilty, occasional giving never will.
-
September 20, 2026
Series: The Spirituality of Giving
Before the Law, before the tabernacle, before any command to tithe, two brothers brought God an offering. Pastor Adam opens a new series on giving with Cain and Abel in Genesis 4, and makes the case that provisional giving was worship long before anyone was ever told to do it.
-
September 13, 2026
Series: Elijah: From Drought to Downpour
Elijah finds his successor plowing a field, not standing on a stage. Pastor Adam traces the long gap between Elisha receiving the cloak and actually picking up the mantle years later, and argues that ordinary obedience, not readiness for the spotlight, is where God’s calling most often begins.
-
September 6, 2026
Series: Elijah: From Drought to Downpour
Speaker: Adam Stadtmiller
Book: 1 Kings
Elijah tells God the truth, almost entirely. Four honest statements and one lie: “I, even I only, am left.” Pastor Adam traces how God calls Elijah out of hiding not through wind, earthquake, or fire, but through a whisper close enough to require actual intimacy, and then corrects the lie with a truth Elijah never saw coming.
-
August 30, 2026
Series: Elijah: From Drought to Downpour
Before the wind, the earthquake, and the fire, there was a forty day walk and a cave. Pastor Adam traces exactly how Elijah got to the mountain of God, arguing that the places we dwell shape who we become, and that a specific, personal word from God is available to anyone willing to sit quietly long enough to receive it.
-
August 23, 2026
Series: Elijah: From Drought to Downpour
Hours after calling down fire on Mount Carmel, Elijah runs for his life and asks God to let him die under a broom tree. Pastor Adam opens a new series in 1 Kings with the man behind the miracle: before Elijah was a man of fire, he was a man of solitude, and God’s first response to his collapse was an angel bearing food, not a lecture.
-
August 16, 2026
An edict from Rome uprooted them, and it placed them directly in Paul’s path. Pastor Adam closes this series through Acts with Priscilla and Aquila, an ordinary couple whose tentmaking trade, open home, and willingness to quietly disciple a gifted teacher named Apollos left a mark on the early church that outlasted them.
-
August 9, 2026
Speaker: Adam Stadtmiller
Book: Acts
His name was Joseph, but the apostles renamed him after the thing he was known for — encouragement. Pastor Adam traces Barnabas through Acts: the man who sold his land for others, vouched for Saul when no one else would, and gave John Mark a second chance that changed church history.
-
August 2, 2026
While a city in Samaria is still buzzing from revival, God sends Philip the other direction — to a desert road, to minister to one man. Pastor Harry unpacks what happens when the church trades the crowd for the one, and what it costs, and gains, to carry the gospel that far.
-
July 27, 2026
A new series in Acts. A new question for the congregation: if the people around you asked you to be a busboy, would you be honored or offended? The person they asked in Acts 6 was Stephen. He started at the tables. He ended in the streets, speaking with a wisdom and courage no one could withstand. That’s the invitation.
-
July 19, 2026
Series: Rooted In The Spirit
Peter doesn’t just say you’ve been given a gift — he tells you exactly where it belongs: sandwiched between a mature, praying, loving life and the glory of God. Pastor Adam unpacks what it means to be a steward, not an owner, of what you’ve been given.
-
July 12, 2026
Series: Rooted In The Spirit
Every believer has been given a gift by the Holy Spirit — but given for what, and for whom? Pastor Adam opens 1 Corinthians 12 to argue that gifts were never meant to build a platform, then asks the harder question: is yours sitting unused?
-
July 5, 2026
Series: Rooted In The Spirit
What does it take to qualify for bearing spiritual fruit? In this message from John 15, Campus Pastor Joshua Pigg makes the case that the bar is simpler than we think — and harder than we make it. The only qualification is connection to Christ.
-
June 28, 2026
Series: Rooted In The Spirit
Is your church Spirit-filled? Pastor Adam Stadtmiller reframes the question: the primary evidence of the Holy Spirit isn’t what you can do — it’s who you’re becoming. Fruit is grown. Gifts are given. And only one of them requires abiding.
-
June 21, 2026
Series: The Church
In the series finale of The Church, Pastor Adam Stadtmiller arrives at the fourth and final purpose — Mission — and immediately reframes what that word means. Mission isn’t the program or the outreach event or the sandwich line, though it can include all of those. Mission is something far larger: the Church functioning as God’s masterpiece on display, making His manifold wisdom known to every power and authority — seen and unseen — through the transformed lives of ordinary people.
-
June 14, 2026
Series: The Church
In the third message of The Church series, Pastor Adam takes up the third of four church purposes — Identity, Unity, Maturity, Mission — and reframes what maturity actually means. The goal of the church, he argues, is not attendance. It is conformity to the person of Jesus Christ, a distinction that sounds subtle but changes everything about how a believer lives.
-
June 7, 2026
Series: The Church
Division doesn’t just weaken the church — according to Ephesians 2, it contradicts the entire point of the cross. Pastor Adam Stadtmiller walks through what Jesus actually accomplished: not just saving individuals, but tearing down the wall between them and creating one new humanity. The call to unity isn’t a nicety. It’s the evidence the world is waiting for.
-
May 31, 2026
Series: The Church
Before anything else can matter — mission, unity, maturity — the church has to settle one question: who are we? Pastor Adam Stadtmiller opens The Church series in Ephesians 1, tracing what it means to be chosen by the Father, redeemed by the Son, and sealed by the Spirit. Not as doctrine to affirm, but as a foundation to stand on.
-
May 24, 2026
Most of us live far below the capacity available to us. On Pentecost Sunday, Pastor Adam skips the argument about tongues and goes after dunamis — the explosive power Jesus told the disciples to wait for, and what it looks like on an ordinary Tuesday.
-
May 17, 2026
Series: Genesis: Behind the Curtain
Speaker: Adam Stadtmiller
Book: Genesis
“Bless me, even me also, O my father.” Esau arrived moments too late, and many people live in that same posture. But if the blessing is already secured in Christ, the question is no longer how to get it — it is what activates it.
-
May 10, 2026
Series: Genesis: Behind the Curtain
Speaker: Adam Stadtmiller
Book: Genesis
Satan has many tools, and deception may be the most dangerous, because deceived people rarely know they are drifting. Jacob and Isaac show how blindness and unchecked appetite create the conditions — and why willpower is not the remedy.
-
May 3, 2026
Series: Genesis: Behind the Curtain
Speaker: Joshua Pigg
Book: Genesis
Four people in Genesis 27, each operating from a distorted picture of reality, and each with a reason that made sense to them. The warning is sharp: deception does not look wrong. It looks right.
-
April 26, 2026
Series: Glory Revealed
John sees a city with no temple, no sun and no moon — just the Lamb, lighting everything permanently. Pastor Harry reframes heaven as a person rather than a place, and reads the open gates as both total safety and total welcome.
-
April 19, 2026
Series: Glory Revealed
The Transfiguration as the hinge where Old Testament glory hands off to New. Pastor Adam finds three deliberate echoes of Exodus in the scene, and borrows from Lewis to argue that glory is not brightness or achievement — it is acceptance.
-
April 12, 2026
Series: Glory Revealed
Moses asks to see God’s glory and is put in the cleft of a rock. Pastor Adam traces glory from something rare, restricted and risky, through the incarnation, to something a believer is now invited to host rather than merely behold.

Series: Storm Proof: A Study in James
Speaker: Vinny Iudici
Book: James
The last Sunday of the year goes to the youth pastor, and Vinny Iudici proves James’s point about the tongue at his own expense — with something he said to an eleven-year-old that he clearly still carries. Small things said do not stay small.

Series: From the Cradle to the Cross
Speaker: Adam Stadtmiller
Book: Luke
Christmas Eve turns on a small word used twice in verse 5: Joseph registers with Mary, who is with child. Pastor Adam makes “with” the whole message — and is honest that he is currently surrounded by prayers that are not being answered.
-
December 21, 2025
Series: From the Cradle to the Cross
Speaker: Harry Wilson
Book: Luke
Gabriel appears to exactly three people in scripture, and the first was Daniel — mid-prayer, pleading for his people. Pastor Harry reads the annunciation as the answer to a prayer already prayed, and lands on Mary’s reply: favoured one, and servant.

Series: From the Cradle to the Cross
Speaker: Adam Stadtmiller
Book: Matthew
One point this week: when do you stay, when do you fight, and when do you run? An angel gives Joseph two verbs and no explanation. Pastor Adam notes what gets missed — the escape was funded before it was ordered.
-
December 7, 2025
Series: From the Cradle to the Cross
Speaker: Adam Stadtmiller
Book: Luke
No angels this week — just a poor young couple doing what the law required. Pastor Adam makes the ordinariness the subject, and points out that the King of Glory arrived at his own temple and nobody noticed except two people who had been waiting.
-

Series: From the Cradle to the Cross
Speaker: Adam Stadtmiller
Book: Matthew
The Magi came from the class Daniel was put in charge of six hundred years earlier — which makes the exile the hinge of the Christmas story. Pastor Adam opens a new series on the childhood of Jesus, and takes “they went home another way” literally.
-
November 23, 2025
The annual Thanksgiving message takes a Hebrew word as its key — todah — and spends its first stretch on what the research actually says about gratitude. Then three things it does: brings peace, opens the door, and wins battles.
-
November 16, 2025
Series: Storm Proof: A Study in James
Speaker: Harry Wilson
Book: James
James asks whether a faith that produces nothing can save anybody. Pastor Harry takes it without flinching — and lands somewhere unexpected: if nothing is being produced, the problem is not a works problem, and a list of nice things will not fix it.
-
November 9, 2025
Series: Storm Proof: A Study in James
Speaker: Joshua Pigg
Book: James
Two men walk into the same room — one in a gold ring, one in rags — and James watches which seat each is offered. Pastor Joshua Pigg takes partiality as seriously as the letter does: faith that favours is faith that falters.

Series: Elijah: From Drought to Downpour
Speaker: Adam Stadtmiller
Book: 1 Kings
Eight weeks of build-up and the fire falls. Pastor Adam asks what being on fire actually means, rules out feeling — and points at a detail he says he only saw this week: the fire took the stones, the dust and the water too.
-
October 26, 2025
Series: Elijah: From Drought to Downpour
Elijah has the altar soaked until the trench overflows — deliberately removing every explanation that is not God. Pastor Adam separates that from wisdom, tells the story of a job he turned down with two thousand dollars to his name, and lands on preparation.
-

Series: Elijah: From Drought to Downpour
Speaker: Adam Stadtmiller
Book: 1 Kings
Before any fire falls, Elijah does two ordinary things: he tells the people to come near, and he rebuilds what was torn down. Pastor Adam turns twelve stones into twelve areas to inspect, and names the four quiet things that pull an altar apart.
-

Series: Elijah: From Drought to Downpour
Speaker: Adam Stadtmiller
Book: 1 Kings
Four hundred and fifty on one side, and Elijah says out loud that he is the only one left on the other. Pastor Adam builds on the arithmetic — conviction against consensus — and asks whether you have handed God a sacrifice and then kept interfering with it.
-

Speaker: Harry Wilson
Book: Ephesians
Where you sit matters. Back from sabbatical, Pastor Harry reads Ephesians 2 on being seated with Christ, answers why that was necessary at all, and passes on the question he was asked twice while away: what would you do if you knew it would not fail?

Book: 1 Kings
Ahab’s first words are an accusation: you troubler of Israel. Pastor Adam draws out what that reveals, then asks how long anyone can go limping between two opinions — and finds his illustration in a baseball cap worn by someone who didn’t support the team.

Series: Elijah: From Drought to Downpour
Speaker: Adam Stadtmiller
Book: 1 Kings
Elijah is the headline, but this week belongs to the civil servant. Obadiah ran Ahab’s household and hid a hundred prophets fifty at a time — and then argued with Elijah about getting killed. Pastor Adam treats that doubt as permission rather than failure.

The brook dries up and God’s next instruction is worse: go to Jezebel’s home territory, where a starving widow will feed you. Pastor Adam sits with what Elijah asks of her, and with the shape of the provision — the flour never ran out and never overflowed.

Elijah arrives in scripture with no genealogy, no calling narrative — he simply walks into the worst king’s court and announces a drought. Pastor Adam opens the series on what a change maker is, and why every person listening has a place that needs one.

The camera shifts to Isaac, carrying the wood for his own sacrifice up the mountain without knowing it. What is credited to Abraham is not the completion but the willingness to release — and the text keeps insisting the two of them went on together.

God says Abraham, and Abraham says here I am — a person already oriented toward the voice before knowing what it will ask. Pastor Adam traces that faith back through every earlier hinge, arguing it was built in instalments rather than summoned on the mountain.

A weaning feast turns into an expulsion, and the conflict is the direct residue of an arrangement made years earlier. Pastor Adam holds both threads: consequences that are real and not cancelled, and a God who meets Hagar in the desert anyway.

Genesis makes the point twice in one sentence: the Lord was gracious to Sarah as he had said, and did what he had promised. The name carries the warmth — Isaac means laughter, and Sarah had laughed in disbelief at the announcement.

Jesus says follow me to a tax collector, and Matthew’s first act as a disciple is to fill his house with his own circle. Nobody was cleaned up first — and Jesus tells the religious professionals watching to go and learn what mercy means.
-
December 29, 2019
A reign ends, and that is when the vision comes. Dr. James Smith III preaches Isaiah 6 on a sequence the year-end usually reverses: seeing, then undoing, then cleansing, and only then “here am I, send me.”
-
December 24, 2019
Speaker: Adam Stadtmiller
Book: John
Pastor Adam opens Christmas Eve with a question rather than a text: when did it start feeling like Christmas? The manger is the answer precisely because it resists atmosphere — a feeding trough is not evocative, it is simply what was available.
-
December 22, 2019
Series: Grace on the Galilee
Speaker: Adam Stadtmiller
Book: Mark
The unclean spirit makes the most theologically accurate statement in the chapter — I know who you are, the Holy One of God — and Jesus silences it. Correct information about Jesus turns out not to be the same thing as relationship with him.
-
December 15, 2019
Series: Grace on the Galilee
The disciples are in the storm because they were told to go there. Pastor Adam notes that what terrified them was the answer arriving unrecognisable, and that when Peter sank nothing had changed in the conditions — only in where he was looking.
-
December 8, 2019
Series: Grace on the Galilee
Harry Wilson sets two passages side by side: Jesus says “come and see” to two disciples, and Mary’s household says it back to him at a grave. Between them sits a man weeping ten minutes before raising the dead, with no practical reason to cry.
-
December 1, 2019
Series: Grace on the Galilee
Speaker: Adam Stadtmiller
Book: Mark
Four men dig through a roof to lower a paralysed friend in, and the text says Jesus saw *their* faith. Then he forgives sins rather than legs — and the healing that follows is offered as evidence for the harder claim rather than as the main event.
-
November 24, 2019
Series: Grace on the Galilee
Rondi Pogue starts generously: the crowd follows Jesus because they have seen him heal people, which is not a pure motive, and he feeds them anyway. The question he asks Philip was never for information — Jesus asks questions to teach.
-
November 17, 2019
Series: Grace on the Galilee
“I see people; they look like trees walking around.” Pastor Adam takes the two-stage healing as the point rather than an embarrassment — Jesus is not a microwave salesman selling instant spirituality, and a second touch is not a failed miracle.
-
November 10, 2019
Series: Grace on the Galilee
A series on the miracles opens with a definition rather than an assumption, then notices the setting: Jesus leaves the synagogue and goes to a house, where the miracle happens for somebody’s relative after the service is over.
-
November 3, 2019
Series: Son of Anarchy
Speaker: Adam Stadtmiller
Book: 2 Samuel
David runs, and Pastor Adam argues it is the most competent thing he does in the whole account. He sends the ark back rather than use the presence of God as insurance, and answers betrayal with one sentence of prayer rather than a counter-plot.
-
October 27, 2019
Series: Son of Anarchy
Absalom stations himself at the gate, tells everyone with a complaint that their claim is valid and nobody is listening, then embraces them. Pastor Adam reads it against his father: one content as a shepherd boy, the other discontent as a king’s son.
-
October 20, 2019
Series: Son of Anarchy
Joab notices the king misses his son and engineers a reconciliation with a coached performance — pretend, act like, put words in her mouth. Pastor Adam builds on triangulation, and on manipulation that arrives with arguably good motives.
-
October 13, 2019
Series: Son of Anarchy
Two years pass and Absalom throws a party. Pastor Adam preaches on what anger does when given time and nothing else — that it cannot resolve itself, and that it is usually a secondary emotion sitting on top of something else.
-
October 6, 2019
Series: Son of Anarchy
Speaker: Adam Stadtmiller
Book: 2 Samuel
The series works backwards into how the family got there, through the part most sermons skip. Pastor Adam names two failures — minimizing trauma, and the inability to communicate — then asks the room not to judge too fast, since David was a neglected son himself.
-
September 29, 2019
Series: Son of Anarchy
A series on Scripture’s most dysfunctional family opens at its end, with Absalom dead against David’s explicit order. Pastor Adam’s framing is blunt: an amazing son of God and a great king who was not great in regard to family.
-
September 22, 2019
Series: Stealing Eden
Speaker: Adam Stadtmiller
Pastor Adam opens on sexuality with three readings rather than one, and the selection is the argument: humanity made male and female, everything made for its purpose, and what is plain about God from what has been made.
-
September 15, 2019
Series: Guests
Speaker: Christine Garde Denning
Christine Garde Denning preaches on hope from two poles: reeds that wither fastest while still green, and an anchor for the soul. The distinction is that hope is defined by what it is attached to rather than by how strongly it is felt.
-
September 8, 2019
Series: Dive Into Life
Speaker: Adam Stadtmiller
Book: Romans
Romans 1 says God’s nature has been clearly seen in what was made. Pastor Adam takes that as a real claim about the natural world, then asks a question congregations rarely get: are you actually engaging nature as part of following Christ?
-
September 1, 2019
Series: Dive Into Life
Speaker: Adam Stadtmiller
Book: Luke
Two men in clothes like lightning ask the women why they are looking for the living among the dead. Pastor Adam turns the question on the room: where do we keep returning to look for life, knowing at some level what we will find there?
-
August 25, 2019
Series: Dive Into Life
No good tree bears bad fruit. Pastor Adam takes Luke 6 as the diagnostic half of the series, landing on speech as involuntary disclosure rather than self-expression — the most reliable evidence available, and the hardest to manage.
-
August 18, 2019
Series: Dive Into Life
A series on abundant living opens at the tree of life. Pastor Adam separates biological life from the kind that outlasts it, argues most people conflate them and settle for the first, and organises the message around what a tree consumes, where it is planted, and its fruit.
-
August 11, 2019
Series: Guests
Two men go up on a roof. David sees a woman and sends for her; Peter goes to pray and is given a vision he refuses three times. Dr. James Smith III sets the passages side by side and asks what a person does with a high place and some solitude.
-
August 4, 2019
Series: Things Adam Wants to Talk About
Speaker: Adam Stadtmiller
Book: Psalms
Pastor Adam returns to Psalm 23 and the observation that a shepherd does not run with his sheep. C.S. Lewis supplies the warning: take care when your outside is bigger than your inside — a structural problem, not a success story in progress.
-
July 28, 2019
Series: Guests
Speaker: Rondi Pogue
Rondi Pogue, who directs a ministry working in conferences, India and the local jails, preaches on the question her work puts her in front of constantly: am I bad? The distinction the message rests on is shame as a claim about what a person is.
-
July 21, 2019
Speaker: Adam Stadtmiller
Book: 2 Samuel
Forgiveness arrives and so do consequences. Pastor Adam gives four hard-edged instructions, and notes what David does that his servants find incomprehensible: while the child lived he fasted on the ground; when the child died he got up and went to worship.
-
July 14, 2019
Pastor Adam preaches Psalm 51 by asking whether anyone should be forgiven, and treats it as a real question. The pastoral core is the part after forgiveness: a believer who has been forgiven and cannot function as though they have.
-
July 7, 2019
Speaker: Adam Stadtmiller
Book: 2 Samuel
Nathan tells a story about a stolen lamb and David pronounces sentence on the man who did it. Pastor Adam notices that David’s moral judgment is working perfectly — it is simply not pointed at himself — and that the parable is a mirror held at the one unavoidable angle.
-
June 30, 2019
Speaker: Adam Stadtmiller
Book: 2 Samuel
At the time when kings go off to war, David stayed home. Pastor Adam builds on that one clause, on a legitimate season of rest curdling into stagnation, and on the fact that a plan for temptation has to exist before the moment rather than during it.
-
June 23, 2019
Pastor Adam spends a whole message on Bathsheba before returning to David, noting the text never blames her and that Matthew’s genealogy declines her name, calling her the one who had been the wife of Uriah, keeping the wrong in view generations later.
-
June 16, 2019
Speaker: Adam Stadtmiller
Book: 2 Samuel
The series opens well before the roof, with a king finally at rest in a house of cedar. Pastor Adam begins with what three decades of struggle produced — and with the fact that settled rest, a genuine blessing, is also the condition David is in when everything turns.
-
June 2, 2019
Series: Thriving or Surviving?
Speaker: Harry Wilson
Book: Jeremiah
God tells Jeremiah he was known before he was formed; Jeremiah says he is only a youth. Harry Wilson pairs that with the harder verse later in the book — if runners wearied you, how will you compete with horses — and asks whether difficulty is obstacle or training.
-
May 26, 2019
Series: Accelerate
Paul writes about contentment from prison, and says he learned it. Pastor Adam works Philippians 4 as a recipe rather than a sentiment, and puts a fill-in-the-blank question to the room: if I had ______, then I would be content.
-
May 19, 2019
Series: Accelerate
“If the world hates you, it hated me first.” Pastor Adam preaches John 15 on a position that is neither belonging nor withdrawing, and on hostility relocated away from the disciple’s personality onto the one being represented.
-
May 12, 2019
Series: Accelerate
Speaker: Adam Stadtmiller
Book: Revelation
The living creatures never stop saying holy, holy, holy. Pastor Adam takes the uncomfortable turn: purity is not merely neglected today but scorned, and a culture that finds it ridiculous will find this passage incomprehensible rather than beautiful.
-
May 5, 2019
Series: Accelerate
Speaker: Adam Stadtmiller
Book: Revelation
John sees a door open in heaven and describes the throne room. Pastor Adam opens on worship as a journey into what is actually the case, set against a moment where truth has been quietly reassigned to individuals as “your” truth.
-
April 28, 2019
Series: Accelerate
“Lord, teach us to pray.” Pastor Adam takes Luke 11 as instruction rather than inspiration, and refuses to soften the parable that follows: Jesus commends a kind of asking that a polite person would be embarrassed by.
-
April 21, 2019
Speaker: Adam Stadtmiller
Book: Mark
Mark’s Easter account is the strangest of the four: the women find the stone already moved, and run. Pastor Adam preaches it, and Pastor Jim reads the gospel in his late brother’s Easter tie, answering what difference resurrection makes with someone specific in mind.
-
April 14, 2019
Speaker: Adam Stadtmiller
Book: Luke
A joyful crowd, genuinely mistaken about what it is celebrating. Pastor Adam preaches Palm Sunday as a warning that popularity is evidence of nothing in either direction, and that what the road wanted was a political saviour rather than a universal king.
-
April 7, 2019
Series: Accelerate
Speaker: Harry Wilson
Book: Psalms
Harry Wilson preaches Psalm 119 on God as an authoritative Father, which is neither authoritarian nor permissive. The psalm is relentlessly about law, and yet its verbs are all affection, which is the tension the message works.
-
March 31, 2019
Series: Accelerate
The disciples find Jesus praying alone and tell him everyone is looking for him. Pastor Adam builds on what he does next, which is not to go back, and on an agenda set in solitude before anyone asked for it.
-
March 24, 2019
Series: Guests
Speaker: Bryce Maurer
Book: Matthew
Bryce Maurer, who pastors a revitalising church in Livingston, Montana, preaches Matthew 5 on salt and light — noting that both are stated as identity rather than instruction, which changes entirely what the warnings that follow are doing.
-
March 17, 2019
Series: Accelerate
Speaker: Adam Stadtmiller
Book: Luke
Simon fishes all night for nothing, a carpenter tells him where to put the nets, and the catch nearly sinks two boats. His first response is to ask Jesus to leave. Pastor Adam takes that seriously: discipleship exposes sin before it does anything else.
-
March 10, 2019
Series: Accelerate
Speaker: Adam Stadtmiller
Book: Matthew
Eleven on a mountain, some worshipping and some doubting, and the commission handed to both. Pastor Adam opens Accelerate on the claim that precedes the command, and on there being no difference between believing for forgiveness and being sent.
-
March 3, 2019
Series: The Crown: David as King
God’s promise to David is almost entirely first person: I took you, I was with you, I cut off your enemies, I will give you rest. Pastor Adam does the arithmetic, then asks what you are aiming at, why, and whether doing more would answer the feeling.
-
February 24, 2019
Series: The Crown: David as King
David inquires, is answered, goes. Then it happens again and the answer is different: circle around, wait for the sound in the poplar trees. Pastor Adam makes the discipline the refusal to assume that what worked last time is the instruction this time.
-
February 17, 2019
Series: The Crown: David as King
The tribes make David king and cite not his lineage but that he led them out and brought them in. Pastor Adam builds on the difference between a king and a shepherd, and on the influence that comes from helping people win their own battles.
-
February 10, 2019
Series: The Crown: David as King
Speaker: Adam Stadtmiller
Book: 2 Samuel
Two men present a severed head as good news and David has them executed. Pastor Adam uses the scene to address the wrath of God, distinguishing a response against what violates God’s nature from the capricious, self-indulgent human version.
-
February 3, 2019
Series: The Crown: David as King
Speaker: Adam Stadtmiller
Book: 2 Samuel
A long war, a house growing weaker, and a commander quietly strengthening his own position. Pastor Adam reads 2 Samuel 3 as a study in what fear does, arguing that fear is what makes people negotiate, and that God establishes kingdoms for surrendered hearts.
-
January 27, 2019
Series: The Crown: David as King
David finally moves, and the striking thing is that he asks first. Pastor Adam reads 2 Samuel 2 as a man refusing to chase a destiny already promised, with the mandate being only to seek, since revealing belongs to God.
-
January 20, 2019
Series: The Crown: David as King
A series on David opens with a death, not a coronation. A man claims credit for killing Saul and expects a reward; David has him executed. Pastor Adam builds the series on that restraint, and on the thirty or so years David spent between anointing and throne.
-
January 13, 2019
Series: Run with the Pack
Same passage, second week, question turned outward: what did those four devotions actually produce? Pastor Adam argues social change in Acts 2 does not begin with outward-facing programs but downstream of a body devoted to teaching, fellowship, bread and prayer.
-
January 6, 2019
Series: Run with the Pack
Speaker: Adam Stadtmiller
Book: Acts
Acts 2 describes the earliest church in startlingly concrete terms: teaching, the fellowship, bread, prayer. Pastor Adam argues that is devotion rather than attendance, and asks whether devotion to a local body is genuinely required or merely encouraged.
-
December 30, 2018
Series: Joy to the World
Speaker: Adam Stadtmiller
Book: James
The last Sunday of the year lands on James 1 and its instruction to consider trials joy. Pastor Adam works it through endurance, notes how little in modern life teaches it, and sends the congregation into the new year on three words: exist, perceive, endure.
-
December 23, 2018
Series: Joy to the World
Speaker: Dr. James Smith III
Book: Luke
Dr. James Smith III preaches the angel’s announcement as the answer to why Jesus came. The shepherds are not told to feel better; they are told something has happened, in a named town, with a verifiable sign attached, and the joy follows the fact.
-
December 16, 2018
Series: Joy to the World
“Hope deferred makes the heart sick.” Pastor Adam preaches joy at the point in December when many can least manufacture it, describing hope as the long road joy travels before arriving, and refusing either to diminish pain or to let go of hope.
-
December 9, 2018
Series: Joy to the World
Speaker: Adam Stadtmiller
Book: Hebrews
A Christmas series on joy opens in Hebrews 12, with a race run under a cloud of witnesses. Pastor Adam treats joy as something produced rather than waited for, in three moves, and puts losing heart forward as the actual risk being guarded against.
-
December 2, 2018
Series: John 3 in 3D
Speaker: Dr. James Smith III
Book: John
Dr. James Smith III brings the early church into the room, letting the first Christian voices interpret John 3 alongside modern readers, and reads the passage from the end of chapter two so the famous verse sits where it actually belongs.
-
November 25, 2018
Series: John 3 in 3D
Harry Wilson preaches the verse everyone can recite and the three that follow, which fewer can. The judgment John names is preference rather than ignorance, and belief, after C.S. Lewis, is less one item among others than the light by which the rest is seen.
-
November 18, 2018
Series: John 3 in 3D
A series on John 3 opens with the man rather than the verse. Elliott Stearns reads Nicodemus closely, down to a conjunction in verse one most readers miss, and traces an exchange that never returns to the terms Nicodemus arrived with.
-
November 11, 2018
Series: SPENT
Speaker: Adam Stadtmiller
Book: Genesis
Abram gives a tenth of everything to a priest-king centuries before any law requires it, then refuses to take a thread or a sandal strap from the king of Sodom. Pastor Adam uses both halves to make the case for the corporate tithe and the local church.
-
November 4, 2018
Series: SPENT
Speaker: Adam Stadtmiller
Pastor Adam puts the weight on the first verb: honour the Lord with your wealth. Generosity is an overflow of honour, not a formula, and Isaiah 61 widens what “favour” even means, since almost none of what it promises is financial.
-
October 28, 2018
Series: SPENT
Speaker: Adam Stadtmiller
Book: Malachi
Malachi 3 is one of the few places God invites people to test him, and it is about money. Pastor Adam opens SPENT there, traces the tithe back to Abram and Melchizedek before any law required it, and refuses the transactional reading the title names.
-
October 21, 2018
Series: The Tongue
Speaker: Adam Stadtmiller
Book: Acts, Colossians, Deuteronomy, Proverbs
Some form of the word encourage appears eight times in Acts, twice as often as anywhere else. Pastor Adam builds the case on Barnabas, who vouched for Saul when the disciples were afraid of him, and argues much of the New Testament exists downstream of that.
-
October 14, 2018
Series: The Tongue
Speaker: Adam Stadtmiller
Pastor Adam defines gossip sharply enough to remove its defences: a coercive social weapon that creates influence for whoever shares it. Ephesians 4:29 supplies a standard higher than merely being true, and James 1:26 supplies the harder line.
-
October 7, 2018
Series: The Tongue
James says no human being can tame the tongue. Pastor Adam opens the series by asking why Scripture gives words that much weight, tracing “God said” nine times through Genesis 1 and Jesus himself being called the Word.
-
September 30, 2018
Series: Stuff Jesus Said
Peter says he is going fishing, and six others follow him back to what they know best. Pastor Adam reads John 21 as a resurrection appearance that opens with breakfast rather than rebuke, on a fire already lit and a meal that never depended on the catch.
-
September 23, 2018
Series: Stuff Jesus Said
Speaker: Harry Wilson
Two young readers open Youth Sunday with the hardest sentences in the Gospels. Harry Wilson watches the smiles turn to frowns, preaches it with his own mother and grandparents in the room, and argues Jesus is insisting on an order of loves, not the abolition of the lesser ones.
-
September 16, 2018
Series: Stuff Jesus Said
Speaker: Adam Stadtmiller
Book: John
“My peace I give you, not as the world gives.” Pastor Adam works the message around that qualifier, on a Father and Son who make a home rather than pay a visit, and on obedience as a symptom of love rather than its price.
-
September 9, 2018
Series: Stuff Jesus Said
Speaker: Adam Stadtmiller
Book: John
“Ask me for anything in my name.” Pastor Adam takes it at full strength, then asks why so few pray as if it were true, naming guilt, unbelief and competing passions as three routes to the same silence, and refusing to dodge whether God has ever disappointed you in prayer.
-
September 2, 2018
Series: Stuff Jesus Said
Speaker: Adam Stadtmiller
Book: John
Jesus says the words he speaks are not his own. Pastor Adam argues that is not modesty but a claim to deity, that everything Jesus said was a translation of the Father’s heart, and that the same pattern is what makes “greater works than these” a description of delegation.
-
August 26, 2018
Series: Stuff Jesus Said
Speaker: Adam Stadtmiller
Book: John
Thomas admits he does not know where Jesus is going. Pastor Adam refuses to soften the answer that follows, redirects it from gatekeeping a destination to the destination being a person, and notes how much of Scripture is people standing in God’s presence without recognising it.
-
August 19, 2018
Series: Stuff Jesus Said
Speaker: Adam Stadtmiller
Book: Matthew
Pastor Adam presses a question congregations are rarely asked directly: what are you actually asking God for? James 4 supplies the uncomfortable answer, and C.S. Lewis supplies the frame, that heaven is the land of substance and earth the land of shadow.
-
August 12, 2018
Series: Stuff Jesus Said
Speaker: Adam Stadtmiller
Book: Matthew
The first two words of the Lord’s Prayer do most of the work. Pastor Adam argues God as Father is among the most radical religious ideas ever proposed, builds it from Romans 8, Galatians 4 and Hebrews 4, and asks what prayer is for if the Father already knows.
-
August 5, 2018
Series: Stuff Jesus Said
Speaker: Adam Stadtmiller
Book: John
“I will not leave you as orphans” only means something if the condition is real. Pastor Adam inventories what an orphan actually lacks, name, history, belonging, legitimacy, and argues Jesus is naming a spiritual condition that shows up in people whose households were fine.
-
July 29, 2018
Series: The Politics of Jesus
Speaker: Adam Stadtmiller
Book: Romans
Romans 13 tells believers to submit to governing authorities, and Pastor Adam refuses to soften it. He sets Galatians 5 alongside it, argues neither church nor state produces righteousness by rule, and leaves Daniel’s defiance as an open question rather than answering it.
-
July 22, 2018
Series: The Politics of Jesus
Speaker: Adam Stadtmiller
Book: John
Pilate tells Jesus he has the power to free him or crucify him, and Jesus relocates the whole question. Pastor Adam opens The Politics of Jesus by dismantling the assumption most believers hold quietly: that Jesus’ political views happen to match their own.
-
July 15, 2018
Series: Rest: Finding Spiritual Rest
A series on rest ends by defending work. Pastor Adam takes Proverbs 6 to the ant, separates work from toil by way of Genesis 3 and Colossians 3, and argues that sloth and overwork are two versions of the same refusal to live inside a design.
-
July 8, 2018
Series: Rest: Finding Spiritual Rest
Leviticus 25 gives the land itself a Sabbath. Pastor Adam defines stress three ways, all of them a mismatch between load and design, and puts the test bluntly: if you are not taking a Sabbath, something is already wrong. Things that do not rest break.
-
July 1, 2018
Series: Rest: Finding Spiritual Rest
You will rarely see a shepherd running with his sheep. Pastor Adam works Psalm 23 into a question about which voices a restless person is actually following, and lands on contentment as a key to rest rather than a reward for achieving it.
-
June 24, 2018
Series: Rest: Finding Spiritual Rest
God finishes the work and then stops. Pastor Adam opens the Rest series in Genesis 2:3, arguing the world was created into deep stillness rather than activity, and that rest and sleep are not the same thing: without the capacity to rest, sleep does not arrive.
-
June 17, 2018
The son rehearses a speech asking to be hired as a servant, and never gets to finish it. Dr. James Smith III preaches the prodigal son on Father’s Day, on a father who was watching the road, and on an older brother who has to ask a servant what is happening in his own house.

JUN 10 2018 | UberWhale: A Deep Dive Into The Life Of Jonah S1E4 | Jonah’s Anger at God’s Compassion
Speaker: Adam Stadtmiller
Book: Jonah
Nineveh repents and Jonah is furious about it. Pastor Adam closes UberWhale on the chapter most people skip, diagnoses a geography problem rather than a God problem, and asks whether God is angry about the things we are angry about, and what the anger is actually accomplishing.
-
June 3, 2018
Speaker: Adam Stadtmiller
Book: Jonah
The word of the Lord comes to Jonah a second time, and a city turns around on one sentence of warning. Pastor Adam works Jonah 3 around the word “if,” argues that nobody knows in advance who will repent, and puts the closing question plainly: perhaps you have an obedience problem.
-
May 27, 2018
Speaker: Adam Stadtmiller
Book: Jonah
Jonah prays from the worst possible address. Pastor Adam reads Jonah 2 as a case study in what a person reaches for when nothing else is within reach, argues that distress is a prayer factory, and asks whether the abundant life is possible inside the fish rather than only after it.
-
May 20, 2018
Jonah does not run because the assignment is frightening. He runs because he hates the people he has been sent to warn. Pastor Adam opens UberWhale in Jonah 1, reads the prophet asleep below deck as something closer to a death wish than courage, and argues that crisis is often grace.
-
May 13, 2018
Greater love has no one than this. Harry Wilson takes John 15 out of abstraction by way of his own mother, a single parent raising three children in small apartments, and draws a line between building a resume of interesting things and bearing fruit that actually abides.
