Verses 12 through 16 And Isaac sowed in that land And reaped in the same year A hundredfold The Lord blessed him And the man became rich And gained more and more Until he became very wealthy He had possessions of flocks And herds And many servants So that the Philistines Envied him Now the Philistines Had stopped And filled with earth All the wells That his father's servants Had dug In the days of Abraham His father And Abimelech said to Isaac Go away from us For you are much mightier Than we This is the word Of the Lord Well good morning If you have your Bibles Open up to Genesis 26 As you're doing that I want to let you know About a parenting seminar Grandparents come to this as well Friday night I am going back To back in the ages To when I wrote a book In 2014 Called Give Your Kids The Keys And there was a real Shift in the church then With a bunch of kids Leaving the church And as a pastor I know one of the One of the Sometimes negative consequences Would be losing your children While having this incredible church You lose them to the world And I didn't want my kids To grow up Loving our family But hating the church And so I began to pray Began to look at some of the mentors That were in my life And how to let your kids Have their own faith And not rent it from you I want your kids To rent your faith right So I'll be doing a deep dive On Give Your Kids The Keys It is a I think it's out of print So I don't think you can get it It was 2014 when I wrote that I'm going to try to get Some copies And see what I can do as well But I will be going over Just some of the basic Principles of that So that will be this Friday night Really looking forward to it And diving back Bringing back the hits So with that We're in Genesis 26 And hopefully you are following I asked you last week To jump into Genesis 11 And begin to read You can read all the way to 50 That's where Joshua is But this is so rich And there's so much going on I can't preach all the backstory Every week Unless we want to do seven hours Now if we were in Korea Then that would be cool We would do seven Africa We'd do seven hours service Doesn't work here as well And so we're in Genesis 26 And in Genesis 26 We are following the continued story Of a man named Abraham Who would become a family He would take a wife And have a family He would birth a people That people would be Israel His grandson Jacob We're going to be getting to him In this series We saw him a little bit already His name was changed to Israel And that name represented A nation That would bring salvation Through its offspring Offspring is a big word Through its offspring A generational blessing That blessing Is not just the nation Israel When people focus on Oh Israel became a nation That's the blessing That's on the way to the blessing The blessing is Jesus Christ Galatians 3.16 You can write that down It's not in your notes Now the promises Promises God has promises for you Were made to Abraham And to his offspring Ellipses Dot dot dot Who is Christ Read that again Now the promises Were made to Abraham And to his offspring Who is Israel Some of it Yeah But who is Jesus Christ And Jesus Christ Has a greater inheritance Than just Israel Jesus Christ Has the inheritance Of all the nations And will redeem The entire cosmos If you want to do A mind bending exercise Go read Ephesians About the eternal blessings Of God So we're hearing this story But something happened On the way To paradise This is a family Full of promise Just like yours God has promises For your family That are innate To all believers But there are Specific promises Based on The story of your lineage That goes back And we see that In Genesis here We have a story Of generational sin Which we're going to Talk about in just a second In this story You have this generational sin And you have generational blessing Now I didn't preach I'm skipping verses 7-11 You need to go back And read verses 7-11 Last week we were in 1-7 Or 1-6 This week we're in 7-11 You don't have to go read it now But it's basically This generational sin Where Isaac does the same thing That Abraham did twice Which is He goes into a land They realize That his wife Is just a fox For all your 1970s crew An absolute fox And he says They're going to steal my wife And kill me I have no faith Even God God has given me these promises So I'm going to say She's my sister So he does that twice Now Isaac has just done The same thing This time with the Philistines You will see in families That there are For one reason or another Generational sins Or hangups That will follow the generation As long as Satan Can get momentum In that family In this family It's deception Just one of them There is just deception Jacob is probably The apex Of that deception And then he ends up Getting deceived by Laban Later on in the story But there is deception And we see that Over and over again So there's a family That has generational sin And I want to build this again Your family has promises And there is oftentimes Speed bumps On the way to the promise And until someone with courage And conviction Comes in to stand up Against what you know Are generational sins In your family That chain will not be broken You're going to be here For 50, 70, 90 105 years If you're CP He was at our church Satan's going to be here A long time after you He probably knows Your family history Better than you do He knows the generational things And so there is this whole idea Of generational curses Oh you know We're in Jesus now There's no generational curses That's like saying Jesus came And now there's no more sin In the world Satan is going to Bob and weave He's a He's you know He is a A great Deceiver And fighter And so it's going to Take a person to come And like Fleetwood Mac said Break the chain Right To break that chain And are you going to be The person Who brings a generational Blessing And breaks the curse Verse 3 Go to verse 3 Let's just look at That generational blessing Because today We're talking about blessings Last week was famine Right I'm surprised you're all back Right Last week was famine This week I did promise Sojourn in this land And I will be with you And bless you Circle bless you We're a people of the blessing Not a people of the curse Stop agreeing If you are With being a person Of the curse This bad thing's Going to happen to you This will never happen He wants you to believe All those things I am a person Of the promise Says that I will bless you For to you and your offspring I will give these lands And I will establish the oath That I swore to you And your forefathers Before I get to verse 4 There's just a few addendums I took a Sabbath yesterday I'm just getting back Into stepping into Some of these things That I've kind of let lapse And so I did a full Sabbath A lot of work to do Around my house yesterday Didn't do it Watched the wife work all day And I just sat there Instead of spending Time with the Lord She can have her Sabbath If she wants it as well Halfway through In the verse 3 It says For to you and your offspring You want to be a people That secure blessing For your offspring For generations Most people And many believers Only think about the blessing Of their individual life At the moment You want to bless Seven generations Nine generations Twelve generations To a thousand generations The Lord said That's him saying it Not me To a thousand generations You want to be A generational blessing And you can do that By breaking the chain By breaking those chains And so go If you would Continue on Verse 4 And I will multiply God is the God Of multiplication Your offspring As stars of heaven Will give to you Your offspring And to these lands And in your offspring All nations of the earth Shall be blessed We saw that a moment ago In the passage With Jesus Being the offspring Because Circle because Because Abraham Obeyed Circle Obeyed My voice And kept Circle kept My charge My commandments My statutes And my laws Wow Really powerful Three really big verses There that have to do With this causal blessing This generational blessing One is because That is a word That is a lot like if Because Obeyed If you want a generational blessing You cannot live In a Lack of conviction For God's blessing And number two They kept My charge They were keepers Of the charge of God They kept The things of God Alive I want to talk about That thousand generation blessing Because today is a message About blessing And I think for a while In this passage We're going to continue To look at What it looks like To build blessing In your life To build a life Of momentous Blessing Of momentum And blessing That you are the one Who blesses Like it says A thousand generations That's found in Deuteronomy 7 9 It's in your notes Know therefore That the Lord Your God Is God It's a funny way To say it Isn't it The faithful Circle faithful God Who keeps covenant He's keeping covenant With you Like a marriage And steadfast Steadfast love With those With those Who love him And keep There's that word again His commandments To a thousand generations Got to stop thinking About just tomorrow I mean live one day At a time But you Are living For generations You want to be the person In the family photo You ever seen those people That have the big family reunions You see everyone's there And everyone's important But there's this little Gray haired lady In the back With this bald headed dude And they're kind of Standing there And everyone knows They were the ones They were the ones That turned it all around This photo happens Because they were the ones That turned it around That was my mom Almost every single person now In our entire family line On her side Minus a couple We're talking dozens They watch the sermon So they can call me on it Know Jesus Because my mom Began to share Jesus And sow into that field To make a differentiation In the generations Here's a key word today Sowing We're going to get there In verse 12 Super powerful Sowing And I'm going to set this up Theologically So then we can We can break it down Within the text And theologically Here's your big idea Believers live under A secured blessing Of identity But They also experience Activated blessings Of alignment What does that mean?

What it means Is believers If you are a believer In Jesus Christ There is a covering There is a canopy Of covering of grace That for everyone Who is in Christ You have that It's God's favor His love Access to the throne of God You can immediately Boldly go before his throne There is a canopy But There are causal blessings That come from being obedient And doing the Because You obey And you keep His charge These are blessings That are only secured Through obedience These are only blessings That are only secured Because of the generosity Of your heart To go above and beyond Because you want more of him I'll break this down And prove it to you In just a second Mostly through the New Testament But in Ephesians It talks about The blessing of identity So let me tell you If you know Jesus Christ This is where This is where you dwell And some believers It's great I mean come on It's the blessing of The eternal blessings Of Jesus right We all have that Ephesians 1 3 Blessed be The God and Father Of our Lord Jesus Christ Who has blessed Circle blessed us In Christ Ephesians Love it In Christ With every Spiritual blessing In the heavenly places Or spiritual realms Is another way Every blessing Your inheritance Is every single blessing That he can muster In all of heaven But the question will be Will you actually go And claim the inheritance You hear the stories Of the people right That they die And they didn't realize There was an inheritance That had been left to them Or they find it late in life Or whatever There's this inheritance That comes And it comes because It's causal I want to challenge us To be a causal people A people who say I'm not going to give Just because out of guilt Or whatever else I'm going to do it Because I want to Sow into that area So I can reap blessing In that area I want to sow into This neighborhood I'm going to sow And be causal I'm going to pray Many prayers Jesus said Are not answered Because you didn't pray It's causal If you want to live In the theology Of well God's in charge And we can't change anything And it's all up to him You can be free To live into that camp If you don't believe In miracles Let me assure you You're probably never Going to see one Okay That's good It's going to work I'm not that guy I don't think the scripture I think the scripture is balanced We have God's sovereignty But there's causal blessings How much do you want?

Do you want to be The person in the photo? That's the one Who made the difference So Blessed As we see there So that's the blessings Of identity Let me give you Some causal blessings Genesis 26 4 through 5 Let's just go back To this passage Here Earlier on in the piece In Genesis 26 I have it in your notes there When he was speaking To Isaac This is a second He says it In this passage as well But he says it twice In Isaiah 26 Excuse me In Genesis 26 This is what he said earlier And I had already preached This last week I will multiply your offspring As the stars of the heaven And give to your offspring All these lands And Excuse me All these lands And in your offspring All the nations of the earth Shall be blessed Because Abraham Obeyed my voice Kept my charge My commandments My statutes And my laws There are blessings That are only going to be Unlocked in your life Because you did something Because you chose To be obedient Because you chose To say no to something Because you chose To say yes To something else Those blessings That inheritance Is there for you You have the inheritance In Jesus Christ You have all the blessings But there's blessings There are physical blessings Now you see this In the Old Testament It unfolds more In the New Testament In more of a spiritual realm The Old Testament Is very clear Because you do these things I'm going to bless you In the New Testament You no longer Have to do them anymore There is no condition That you have to do them But show me somewhere In the New Testament That says the blessing That went along With things like Sabbath keeping Went away God's like Oh Jesus came I'm going to take All that blessing I promise When you honor me With a day With your time How hard is it That's one of our Most valuable resources Today right Take a whole day I decided yesterday I want that blessing I want that rest I realized I hadn't taken A full day off Without checking an email Doing something Since my birthday August 13th It's not a good way To live So those blessings Are there Let me just give you Some quick ones And we're going to Jump into the text And finish up John 15 7 If you abide in me You can write these down These are not in your notes These are the if There's that if word Conjunction Junction What's your function If you abide in me Ask whatever you wish And it will be done For you If you abide People who decide To abide You can be under The grace blessing Of Jesus And doing your own thing And you still have That grace Ephesians Blessing of Jesus But abiding Is a different type Of love Jesus talks about it And for those Who abide He's saying You can ask Now you can ask anyways Because of the Ephesians 1 3 You can ask But there are certain times Where he says This only changes When you do this And you fast Causal Because you fasted Because you're adding Things in Not for his favor You already have favor In Jesus Christ You have complete favor You can't get any more favored But it's because You wanted to make A difference So if you abide in me My question is Are you abiding John 15 7 Excuse me 15 5 I think I think I got my verse Wrong here If you Oh no Sorry One would be prayer I just said that one was prayer Fruitfulness would be another one John 15 5 Write that one down I am the vine You are the branches Whoever abides in me And I in him He is it that hears It is him That will bear much fruit For apart in me You can do nothing Fruitfulness Has to do If you keep his commands If you do these things I would say finance as well You see that as well If you want to I want a blessing In my finance Right I don't think God removed The Old Testament blessings You're not required To do it anymore But if you want to Honor God with your finance I believe that blessing Still exists And 2 Corinthians 9 6 and 7 Says The point is this Whoever sows sparingly Will reap sparingly Whoever sows bountifully Will also reap bountifully Each one must give As he has decided In his heart Not reluctantly Under compulsion For God loves a cheerful giver What about sin This is another one You want to talk The blessing of forgiveness If we confess our sins That's if Again You don't have to But if we confess our sins He is faithful and just To forgive us of our sins You can go on And on and on Where the New Testament Shows these words If Because When And there is a There is a There is a Causal blessing That happens because You make these changes Here's what I want to say Grace gives you belonging Alignment Enlarges your territory And claims your inheritance Let me say that again It's super powerful Grace gives you belonging And so many believers Are satisfied with belonging Saved Good I got the fire insurance Right But the deeper your alignment The stronger your obedience The larger your territory And your ability to claim The inheritance I want it all You're going to get The full inheritance The amount you get here Is really up to you Right And God decided to do that Alright go to verse 12 We're jumping into this verse Verse 12 It says And Isaac sowed Let's say sowed Oh we got to do better than that Let's say sowed Sowed Alright great That's our Sowing is our word for the day I got a scream over there I loved it Let's go I just wanted to do it again Isaac sowed in that land And reaped in the same year A hundredfold Circle that The Lord blessed him I guess he did A hundredfold I want to make some shirts That say 100x 100 times And sell them in the bookstore I'm going to work on it Because I want to live that There's nothing wrong With wanting A hundredfold blessing Just because A lot of people Have mispreached The gospel In a way That makes that The central point Or makes it all about finance Doesn't mean That you should Throw out God's truth That you want to be A hundredfold person And the way to be A hundredfold person Is to be in alignment There are ways to guarantee You will never get A hundredfold God might not give you A hundredfold I don't see anywhere Where it says He's going to provide In the New Testament Like I guarantee it So I'm not up here Making guarantees But I tell you what There's a lot of ways You can guarantee You don't get it There's a lot of ways And there's a lot of ways You can at least Put yourself in position Here am I Lord I'm ready to catch him Throw that blessing I'm going to throw it Like a You know They throw the baby Out of a fiery building Catch it Want that blessing Grace gives you belonging Alignment Enlarges your territory Claims inheritance Who doesn't want more territory You see Isaac This family's inheritance Is continuing Their inheritance They have in heaven And the heavenlies That will go to Christ Is actually Being modeled In the terra firma In the geography Of real world things You are seeing The blessing of heaven Being dumped out Upon their lives It said he Okay That God blessed him I want you to go back If you would To verse 13 And the man became rich And gained more and more Until he became very wealthy It already said He became rich Right Could have finished with that He became Oh good We're finished We're done Heard somebody the other day Won five million dollars It was on the news And the guy was saying To his girlfriend We won five million dollars We're done We can retire They're like 20 years old Like don't retire 20 Dude 25 Whatever you are But this says That he got that And then it says He became even more wealthy Now I don't know What God's gonna I'm not making promises To you But I'm saying You can do things To be like this That's how I wanna be like this All the time And you can do things That shut you out Of those promises Not the promise Of Ephesians 1 3 You got it Go to the throne God you have that grace God is continuing to show And to move into that And so I said Here in verse Excuse me There it is Verse 12 again Isaac sowed in the land The same year I wanna say this The blessing began With the decision to sow The blessing The blessing Began With the decision To sow Now What were the weather Conditions like When he sowed If you were here Last week It was during famine He sowed During the famine He made a decision In faith To sow his seed Not during Times of famine Not prosperity It is the decision To sow When sowing Makes no sense That God blesses There is a marriage That maybe you're in And you think This ground's too parched Too much famine In this land And I'm done Sowing Into this land There's a high school Down the street It's gone too far They're lost There's A ministry Calling That doesn't look Available To you anymore And the question is Are you a person That sows Even when the conditions Don't seem right The greatest Stories That I know Of faith Are people Who when they were In the most Part situation Began to sow Seeds of faith Into hard ground Rarely a revival Started Without a desire Being birthed In one person's heart The heart started To beat a little Faster The heartbeat Resonating a little Stronger And they begin To pray Another person Joins Another person Joins Into that place Until eventually You see a rain cloud On the horizon That comes And brings this Let me ask you this Where are you sowing?

Where are you Currently Sowing? What are the places That are looking dry That you have not That you are no longer Sowing That you have decided I'm not going to Sow into that place anymore Or things are too tight I can't sow With generosity I can't sow Into my church Financially I can't sow Into the ministries I care about financially Things are just too tight How will I pay the rent?

I heard a statistic I can't believe it's true That only 5-10% Of pastors tithe I was like what? I don't want to go To that church Just a dry fig tree You know what I mean? Like the one Jesus touched I want to be part Of a people That want to sow As a church We started sowing Our faith club Into that high school When four kids Were coming During faith club Just took 66 of them Or whatever it was On a ski trip Sometimes there's 70 kids That show up there We planted another one It was school system They were going to Kick us out We're getting emails From the principal You know Hey what's going on here This whole thing Sowing Sowing Sowing Because I want To be like this I want to reap A hundred fold It's because We did that Because we continued To sow Faith waits Not for favorable conditions To sow its seed But believes In the hundred fold harvest In the soil of scarcity Faith waits Not for favorable conditions To sow its seed But believes In the hundred fold harvest In the soil of scarcity Now in the New Testament There's a whole bunch Of sowing I put it in your notes I put a whole bunch Of verses Because you're going To have to go deeper On your own And I need you To be studying with me When I teach I need you to go Dive in deeper And go to the next level Be reading the passages We're in Because otherwise You're living in the shadow Of my understanding And my faith And what I want To do Is you have your own Relationship with God That you know What we're going to be Preaching on You know the book we're in And when you show up The stuff I'm saying Is confirming stuff God told you on Wednesday So everything I say Is not a fresh revelation You are just You're in We want to be A bible teaching church So let's be back Into this book Of Genesis We see this blessing We see this sowing That is happening So you see all these verses here And just a couple things That you see One the seed Is often the word So we're sowing the gospel We're sowing truth And evangelism It's not just money It's gospel messengers Are the sowers You see That watering We water Which is the discipleship Nurture That's in 1 Corinthians I have all these verses here About sowing And the different types of sowing And I actually had to shrink this By like four You know By like Probably two thirds Just so I could put a few on there That you can get going On the rabbit trail But we want to be a sower Here's your practical takeaway Sowing is not transactional To control God It's participation In a kingdom God delights to reward God loves to reward The faithful To not preach that Is biblical malpractice I don't care If it's been done wrong And I'm not going to hide Apostolically I'm not going to hide From the fact That we serve a God Who gave us Jesus Christ himself And wants to reward us I don't know how He wants to reward you I'm not going to tell you How he's going to reward you But I will tell you That there are causal blessings That will bring reward Besides just salvation In real time In this place The question is Do you want them Coming in for a landing I feel like the Lord Has given me a word For us And real quick I'm going to read That practical takeaway Real quick Sowing is not transactional To control God Let me just read that I really want to say that It's participation In a kingdom God delights to reward God gave me some words He gave me a prophetic word For I believe believers Around the world right now And I think many people Are missing it We are the sowing generation Let me say that again I believe prophetically God spoke to me And especially about our church We are a sowing generation To young people too You guys can sow into stuff as well You can be 16 Say oh that's for the adults Not We are a sowing generation And we are going to Sow into the harvest That brings souls We are going to Sow into the work Of the kingdom We are going to Sow into prayer We are going to Sow into our relationships We are going to Sow into our marriages We are going to Sow into everything That brings a kingdom culture Because we are A sowing people I'm asking you To sow Sow into your lives Sow into the dark And sown Hardened places Sow your seeds Of God's righteousness And sow into your church Sow financially Into your church Sow financially With offerings Beyond tithes Into other ministries Sow Sow Sow We are a sowing generation I want to be part Of a sowing church Not a bunch of pew sitters Or pastors Who just come And give pablum messages To make their churches bigger We want to sow And we want to go We want to go Hard after God In this area And it's not just finance I want to say The contrary message That is also happening Right now That is Satan Is bringing around the world I see it all over the world And I see it in our church as well Many people have told me Is a message of hopelessness And despair What's the point There's famine Have you seen what's happening In politics Have you seen what's happening here Oh despair What's my life about What's the purpose I don't have any meaning anymore He wants to sow Hopelessness In despair And it's Generational From young kids All the way up To people in their 90s And beyond It is a message That is contrary Because if he can get the church And believers To stop sowing In times of famine He knows that there will never be A rich and great harvest I have a picture of Evan Roberts Evan Roberts Was a coal miner He went into the coal mines As an 11 year old And as an 11 year old He was there For about 12 years I think they have a picture Up the front Jeff you want to help Get that picture up He went in there As 11 years old That's Evan Roberts At 26 years old He's credited With being the catalyst That sowed Into the Welsh revival Show the picture Of the coal miners If you would Neva Please There we go These are the coal miners This is the conditions That he was in And sometime Dark within the mine He began to have A beating heart Way below the earth For revival in his country One day When he was about 17 18 16 In that age He was walking home After being in the mines And God had been speaking To him in the mines He'd been praying in the mines And he was talking to a friend And he says Do you think it's too much To ask God For 100,000 souls He says No I don't think it's too much Pretty soon he started Having dreams 100,000 A note being handed to him With 100,000 on it Over and over again And he left the mines Eventually And went up And started training For the ministry Evan Roberts began To go out And start Revival crusades And in these crusades Not many people Came at first But he focused On four things Over and over The first is Confess known sin The second Remove doubtful habits If you have a doubt about it Probably should remove it I'd bet my money Every single time You shouldn't have it In your life Rationalize it The more time You're going to spend In conversation with it The more you'll rationalize it Remove doubtful habits Number three Obey the spirit promptly And then publicly Confess Christ He started to do Those four things For you know One night They had a prayer meeting And people's hearts Started getting warmed Next night A few more people came Next night A few more people came Until thousands of people Began to come to these meetings Over and over If you read about The Welsh revival All of a sudden Bars started closing In Wales Because there was No patrons anymore The ponies that worked The mine Stopped working Because they weren't Swearing at them anymore And they knew Only how to work When they were swore at It says It began to change The entire culture To over They say 100,000 people Came to Christ This man was a man Who began to pray In the depths of a mine And maybe some of you Feel like that's where You are too It's just dark And dirty And there's no hope And it's horrible But he began to pray a seed He began to sow a seed Right You have seeds to sow And God says When you sow them Jesus says He will give you more To sow And you will reap A harvest A hundredfold And in Deuteronomy To a thousand generations Be the person Of a thousand generations Amen Let's stand If you would It's time for our communion Have our communion Prayer team Come forward We're going to take Our communion When you come forward And then you take it back You take the bread And the cup Back with you To your seat And then we're going to Take it together After that So I want to invite The team come forward And please Before we do that I wanted to let you know As some
