NOV 19 2023 | The Seven Trumpets of Revelation S1E6 | The Dawn of God’s Kingdom

Scripture: Revelation 11:15-19

The seventh trumpet sounds and the announcement is already in the past tense. The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Messiah.

Pastor Adam admits this is the first time in his life he has preached Revelation, that many pastors avoid it, and that it is closer to calculus than to the practical preaching he prefers. He walks a timeline he drew himself, notes that it is one possible reading, and points people to better teachers for the details.

He is careful about the thousand years. Not unicorns and cotton candy — ordinary life, at peace, with Christ reigning. He says it directly to the people who have been calling him distraught about the news: the conflicts you are watching get put to rest. Jesus's own word for the moment was don't be alarmed.

Two takeaways, which is where he says the payoff always is. Embrace a kingdom mindset, meaning stop treating the kingdom as a future problem — the Simpsons line about that being an issue for future Homer does the work. The elders in the passage want only more ground to hand over.

And join the eternal chorus. Adam notices the order in verse 16: the elders experience the reign after they fall on their faces. The temple opens and the ark is seen, and his reading is that God shows things to people standing in a posture of worship, the way a parent leads a toddler by the hand to see an elephant for the first time.

Key topics:

  1. An announcement already in the past tense
  2. The millennium as ordinary life at peace, not cotton candy
  3. The elders reign after they fall on their faces

Revelation chapter 11, verses 15 through 19. The seventh angel sounded his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven, which said, the kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Messiah, and he will reign forever and ever. And the 24 elders who were seated on their throne before God fell on their faces and worshiped God, saying, we give thanks to you, Lord God Almighty, the one who is and who was, because you have taken your great power and have begun to reign.

The nations were angry and your wrath has come. The time has come for judging the dead and for rewarding your servants, the prophet and your people who revere your name, both great and small, and for destroying those who destroy the earth. Then God's temple in heaven was opened and within his temple was seen the Ark of the Covenant, and there came flashes of lightning rumblings, peels of thunder and earthquake, and a severe hailstorm.

This is the word of the Lord, Right on. If you ever Bible is open to a Revelation 11, and, uh, this sermon's entitled the Dawn of God's Kingdom, the Dawn of God's Kingdom. There's an argument in my house on the timing and not a revelation. It's when you put the Christmas tree up and, um, I'm a November 1st guy, okay? I know. Don't leave the church.

Okay, call that British Christmas. So, because they don't have Thanksgiving, so they like to celebrate a little early over there. So I'm, uh, November, that's All Saints Day. Soon as Halloween's over, I'm super happy. I just, I hate Halloween. And so as soon as that's over November 1st, I start sending out to everyone I know in my family a a video link to YouTube, George Michael last Christmas or Whams last Christmas.

And I, they're, and I get back, no, no. And everyone's against me in my family. They're all against me, and I think they're gonna leave the church about it. Um, when it comes to, uh, the timing of Revelation, uh, I'm incredibly humbled teaching this passage over revelation. Uh, a lot of pastors won't preach it. I haven't wanted to preach. This is the first time I've preached it in my whole life.

It's, uh, one, it can call, it can stir up a lot of controversy. And two, it's just difficult. It's calculus. And, uh, I'm a real practical guy. I want my sermon to affect you on Wednesday. And I, I literally, I asked a lot of people, I took a straw poll and the majority of 'em said, Hey, you know, that was kind of interesting.

But like when you literally, 90% was when you got to the part at the end when you gave me the practical stuff, yeah, okay, then you really dialed me in at that point. And so I kind of know that's what, what they're looking for. But at the same time, we really want to kind of do some difficult work on occasion. We've been doing that. And so this passage here in Revelation, um, uh, 1115 through 19 kind of puts us in that territory again, where you can feel really humbled.

There's an, there's a scene in, uh, in, uh, goodwill hunting where, uh, you know, will hunting is he's just this genius and he's got all these geniuses around him, and this one genius can't figure out this math problem. And will hunting kind of comes in like one of these, you know, just, you know, superheroes of math. And, and I, this is kind of how I feel.

I kind of feel like the professor that can't figure it out. There you go. Know your theory Alexander. But the boys found a simple geometrical picture. A tree structure won't Work. Look, now he's joining the two vertices, But I can do the sum. Well, it's how you group the terms, Alexander, but Jerry, if we do the whole thing this Way, then hey, look, look, I wrote it down.

It's simpler this way. Sometimes people get lucky. You're a brilliant man. So I am that guy and like I feel like Pastor Jim's the other guy, like, Hey man, sometimes people just get lucky. You're, you're a brilliant man, pastor Adam. Well, I wanna give you my practical points for this week and then do my best to tell you the, the what I, what I agree with, with the timing of revelation.

But the timing of revelation is what matters. What matters is Jesus Christ is victorious in the end, and that's what matters. So we can go back and forth. We can talk about these things. Here's the practical points for you. I wanna embrace a kingdom mindset. It's a kingdom book. Talked about a kingdom of God coming to earth, a kingdom mindset.

And I guess the question is, who, whose kingdom? Your kingdom or Christ's kingdom? And so we see that as the first point. The second one is join the eternal chorus. You see some worship happening here with these elders and they're begin to sing out and they fall down on their faces in the six verse 16. I love these 24 elders. They're in scripture a lot.

24 elders who were seated on their thrones before God fell on their faces and worship God, saying, we give thanks to you, Lord God Almighty, the one who is and was because you have taken your great power and have begun to reign, have begun to reign. So, uh, next one is join the eternal chorus. What we see right here is another little pause, a strategic pause in the scripture.

Seventh trumpet is blown. Now, if you know anything about the first six trumpets, when the six trumpets are blown, each time there's some really, um, devastating event that happens to the world or people and all these things, you get to the seventh trumpet, you're expecting the, the crescendo, right? You're expecting the worst thing to happen.

And the worst thing isn't What happens, what happens with the seventh trumpet is Christ is revealed. And that's because trumpets have different meanings in the scripture, we talked about that in the first week. But one of 'em is to tell you and to warn you. The other is to announce that a king is coming. And so when the seventh one blows, the reason it's blown is to say that Jesus is coming.

And I would say for some of us, when our lives are being tribulation, uh, we need to dial in to the trumpet of Jesus. There was a band, uh, called the Imperials in the eighties, and uh, they had the song called The Trumpets of Jesus that they used to play. And there's all these trumpets, and that's what's happening here. We're gonna look at the possible end times timeline.

This is the one I agree with. It doesn't mean it's right. And there's a lot of people that disagree with me, some agree with me. Uh, and the term there is eschatology. Eschatology means a study of the end times. Uh, if you have never studied the book of Revelation, I wanna challenge you to do so. Like the Book of Job. The book of Job has become one of my favorite books.

It's one of those books I ran away from. I just love the book of job. Now it speaks so much wisdom to us. But this term eschatology is a study of the end times. I wanna challenge you, uh, to listen to other teachers. A couple are, you know, Chuck Smith, he definitely, I think Chuck goes out on a limb on occasion, but he's a great Bible teacher.

Chuck Smith on those on YouTube. David Guzzi is another one that's excellent on YouTube. Some others, you can look up the chapters, uh, and find these things. I'm gonna give you a timeline that's gonna come up. You're gonna see this timeline. I, I actually made this myself, so before you think it's too awesome, just know I made that.

Uh, and here's the timeline that I see you have it written down. This just a possible timeline and hopefully you can see that. I dunno if you notice we got our wall. I got a pointer. People think you're a great preacher if you have a pointer. Even it doesn't matter what you say, you just point at stuff, right? So, just kidding.

Okay, so, uh, what you're gonna see right here, we see the beginning of the tribulation. And so the tribulation it is, most scholars believe that when the seven seals are broken, we talked about the seven seals in the last series. That's the beginning of the tribulation. This is a very, very simple timeline. In the back, you can see the Bible projects, uh, map.

You can take a picture of it in the back or just go online. Don't do it on your phone right now. Put in Bible project, revelation, search images, you'll find the more expansive one. So the tribulation begins with the seven seals. And when those seven seals are broken, the antichrist is revealed, at least comes onto the scene.

You might not know who he is, but he comes onto the scene. Then we have the seven trumpets. That's the series we're in right now. So this is the beginning of the tribulation. You're gonna notice that there's something that happened before this. The churches are spoken to. John goes to heaven. I left that out of the, out of this timeline.

This just starts with the tribulation. So a little bit further in the seven trumpets that we're in right now, as you remember, are broken up into two categories. There's four trumpets that are the first ones to blow. And they have a lot of climactic disaster. A lot of the climate God is using judgment on the climate. You see that? And then the second one, remember, uh, an eagle flies in between her.

I should have put a picture of an eagle and he flies out and he says, whoa, whoa, whoa. Here, you know, here come the three woes. And so he says that like Jeff Spli and then the trumpets people are like, who's Jeff Spli? Some of you got that. He's a great Bible commentator is the, I think that's the Ridgemont uh, commentary. Um, the third, the three trumpets are these great woes.

And the final one is a seventh trumpet. This is this strategic pause that we're in right now where Christ is worshiped in the midst of tribulation, in the midst of all the things that are happening. God stops and, and there's worship in heaven. That's not a practical word for us to be aware that we need to worship, worship in the midst of our tribulation, even though there's a lot more bad things coming to see him and to join the heavenly course.

We'll get to that in a moment. But there is this strategic pause that says the king is coming. And that is the point of revelation. People think that the point of revelation is all the timeline, the picadillos of God's timeline. When is the beast coming? Who's this? Who's that? Who's that? You want to know who's revealed and what's revealed in revelation Jesus Christ.

And if you miss Jesus Christ, if you miss Jesus Christ, you're missing the point of revelation. He is the first thing revealed at the beginning when he comes to John with a sword coming out of his mouth. He is the last to be revealed. He gives glory to God the Father and God and Jesus Christ is king. And so we see that there. And now after this trumpet blows, I'll just tell you what's gonna happen.

Then we'll go back to the seventh trumpet. We have the seven bowl judgments, plus I put plus because there's a bunch of other stuff that happens. Okay? And I can't go into it all. There's seven judgments. There's the beast that comes out of the sea and the w***e that rides on the beast and the whole thing. And so that is gonna happen here.

So when does the tribulation end? Okay? Some people say the tribulation ends with the seventh trumpet. And then you have all these extras things that happen. Then some people say it ends after the bold judgments. We still have these bold judgments that we're gonna do. Their next series is on the bold judgments. Some people say it ends there.

Some people say, and I know I was talking to Elliot Elliot's timeline starts the tribulation at the blowing of the, of the, the second set of trumpets. So Elliot starts the tribulation here. I start it there. I don't think it matters that much in the end when Jesus Christ is revealed. And so that's what we see. Then you see a thousand year millennium.

This is when Jesus reigns over the earth. And that's what we're talking about today. Why are we talking about that today? That's something that doesn't happen until chapter 20 of Revelation. Why are we talking about that today? 'cause we believe that what happens when the seventh trumpet blows is foreshadowing what is going to happen in chapter 20 where Jesus takes the keys, he locks up Satan, and you have a thousand year reign of peace upon the earth.

You have the thousand year reign of peace. That's the millennium. So we many believe, and I believe that this seven trumpet looks over the rest of the things that are gonna happen that are negative, bad judgements. And it looks over to talk about this thousand year time of peace. And what I wanna say is a lot of people misunderstand that thousand year millennium.

And I did as well when I was younger. I used to think when Jesus came back, oh, so Jesus comes back and what's he wearing? And he's gonna walk on the earth for a thousand years. And that whole thing, um, that is no longer what I believe after studying. What I believe is you're going to see a time where Satan is, is put away. That is shown in, in revelation, um, chapter 20.

And Satan is, is put in change and put into the abyss and there'll be a thousand years of peace. Now, maybe in history you remembered a thing called the Pax Romana. That is one of the things we all remember, right? The Pax Romana. It was this time when the Romans came in charge and everyone had peace, right? The world didn't change. The Italians, you know, they weren't the Italians, but the Romans were still in Rome.

Rome existed. You know, all these different places existed. When this thousand year comes. Jesus is not coming back to the earth at that time. But his spirit will reign. Satan will be put away. And you're gonna, it's gonna be like now. But imagine all of a sudden there's just peace. Imagine there's no war. Now it doesn't mean that there won't be a conflict.

People won't be upset. It won't be normal. But you won't, you'll have a reign of peace that is going to happen. It's gonna be a quasi revival. You're gonna have a revival of a thousand year period. Now, a thousand years seems like a, a long time, but like, you know, a thousand years in world history is actually not that long if you look back.

So you're gonna see that year, we're gonna talk about that right now, that this chapter 11, uh, in the seventh trumpet looks to this millennium period. So a lot of people think it's gonna be, you know, Jesus on a unicorn and rainbows in the sky and cotton candy for everyone. No, it's gonna be normal life, but it's gonna be a time of peace.

The world is gonna continue on. So if you think the world is going to end right now and you're freaking out, I want you to know that all the conflicts you see on the news right now, all the different things are gonna be put to rest. There'll be a thousand years of peace where Christ reigns over the earth and that is coming. So you need to make sure that you look forward.

This is so important as a believer, when we start seeing all the things that are happening in the world today, and I've had so many people call me really distraught over the last month that are just so concerned and they, they have right to be. But if you don't have the ability to go up onto the, the top of the hill and look over to the victory of God, to the millennium and all these things that are happening and the true victory of Jesus Christ, you're gonna get bogged down.

You're gonna be very afraid. And that's why Jesus says, when you see these things happening, don't be what alarmed is the word he used. Don't be alarmed. Don't be alarmed. You see that heaven is not alarmed. What is heaven doing in the midst of these trumpet judgements and then with more seals and other things afterwards, they're worshiping Jesus.

They're worshiping in the midst of it. Paul does this in prison. The ability to worship and have hope in the darkest of circumstances is true. Christian maturity is true spiritual maturity. And so that is something that you have to practice. We all want God just to make us that type of person. The thing is, he tends to make us that type of person over decades, not in a microwave.

And so we see that then after the millennium, Satan is gonna be released. He's gonna be defeated. Then I believe you have the return of Jesus. Now, there are people who believe that there is a thing called the rapture where the church is taken out here. Now, don't get upset with me 'cause I put my Christmas tree up on November 1st, or that I don't believe that's gonna happen, okay?

I don't believe in the church is gonna be raptured up. Many people do. And uh, I think that's gonna be up to God's timing. If you wanted to tell us exactly who would've, I believe that the entire church and everyone else will go when Jesus returns after the defeat of Satan. Now, David Jeremiah, who I know, and I went to his school, they were here this summer and they filmed a new movie.

And our church is in the movie. And if you've been in England or anywhere around the world right now, and he has been broadcasting this all over the world and the country, this is the trailer to his movie that really talks about being left behind. You know, the, the church being raptured out. Do I think the church could be raptured out?

Yeah, I haven't seen that as God's pattern. I I'm not gonna, you know, die on that hill. But here's our little fun church that was on worldwide TV over the last couple months. Check it Out. When the rapture occurs, the world will capture the moment. Cell phones, security cameras, law enforcement, body cams, doorbell cams and more.

We'll all bear video record of the great disappearance. The world will reel with concern from watching the strange mind-boggling and unbelievable video footage that goes viral across the globe. People vanish before their eyes. That's Us. There we are. Let's go On camera. Let's go. This event won't be science fiction, conspiracy theory or mindless speculation.

When Christ comes for his people, it'll be in the twinkling of an eye between the resurrected dead and the raptured. Billions of people will exit this planet in an instant, but billions will be left behind. It'll be s on our globe. But incredible glorious joy in the skies. This is the rapture, the great disappearance. It's vital to know what the Bible says about this coming day, the next event on God's prophetic agenda for the earth.

Are you ready? That'll get you ready, won't it? Goodness gracious. I love me some David Jeremiah, he's a great man of God. And I've known him since I was a 14 year old. I was friends with his daughter. I went to Christian high school. Um, that's just not particularly how I see that it's gonna happen. I think Jesus is gonna come once and I think he's gonna wrap.

It's gonna be at the return in the white throne judgment. So with that, that's just some timing. Hey, go spend 12 days on YouTube, you can, and go study it and see what you think. Lemme tell you what Jesus is coming. I know that. I know he's coming. And whether it's in a rapture at the end, you know, at the, at the, you know, the white throne judgment after Satan's defeated, he's coming back.

And you need to be prepared. And I could be wrong about that rapture thing. I'm gonna tell you what I could be wrong and I wanna be ready. So I'm just gonna tell you I wanna be wrong. 'cause once again, remember who I am in the Will hunting video. I'm the guy that Pastor Jim comes up to and says, you're a brilliant man. Um, don't worry. Sometimes people get lucky.

So maybe Jeremiah is getting lucky. We look at the millennial kingdom, if you look in your notes, understanding the millennial kingdom, the transition of kingdoms. This is for toll. This is a thousand year period where Jesus is gonna reign on the earth. It's foretold in Isaiah. I'm just gonna read this quickly, and this is looking forward to this thousand year period, which we haven't reigned yet.

Uh, Isaiah two one through five says, this is what Isaiah son of amaz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem. In the last days, the mountain of the Lord's temple will be established as the highest of mountains. And some people believe that Israel be, will be the most powerful country in the world. Uh, in that time, in those thousand years, it'll be exalted above the hills and of all nations will stream into it.

Many people will come and say, come let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the temple of the God of Jacob. He will teach us his ways so that we can walk in his paths. The law will go out from Zion and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem. He will judge between the nations and will settle disputes for many peoples. They will beat their swords in the plow, shares their spears into pruning hooks.

Nations will not take up sword against nation, nor will they train for war anymore. Come descendants of Jacob, let us walk in the light of the Lord. Many people believe that, that Israel will be set up as the most powerful nation in the earth. And people will come to Israel and it'll work kind of as a United Nations on its own.

They'll be teaching the message of Jesus Christ. There'll be justice coming forth. And that is what many people believe. But we do see that. And I actually believe that that's true. I think that's, I do think that is going to happen during the thousand years once again, wanna direct you to the hours of YouTube that you can follow up and check about that.

Now let's look at the two things that are practical. This is the, um, this is the payoff for me. These are the things that I want to change your Wednesday. I wanna be a Wednesday pastor preaches on Sunday, but on Wednesday you're thinking about it. You're thinking about it on Thursday and throughout your life. And here's the two points. Embrace a kingdom mindset.

Let's start there. Verse 15, the seventh angel sounded his trumpet and there were loud voices in heaven, which said, the kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his messiah. And he will reign forever and ever. We tend oftentimes to live as if the kingdom is coming as it's a future thing. One of my favorite, um, stories, and I told this a few weeks ago from, uh, the Simpsons.

I was a big Simpsons fan, and, uh, Homer is there and he's eating donuts with mayonnaise. He's dipping the donuts in mayonnaise and drinking vodka. And Marge comes up to him and says, Homer, You're gonna die and have a heart attack if you keep eating donuts with mayonnaise and drinking vodka. And he goes, oh, that's a problem for future Homer.

And I thought, fair enough. And so that's a saying in our house. Now that's a problem for future Adam. You know, our future Lucy or somebody like that. I wanna say we often look at the kingdom of Christ coming in our life. Like that's a problem for future. Put your name there. And we don't live with a kingdom mindset unless it's our kingdom.

We're really good at establishing and building our kingdoms. The kingdom of our time, the kingdom of our finance. It's our, my finance. It's, I worked hard for that. The kingdom of our thoughts, the kingdom of our emotions. Uh, we just had this kingdom that we oftentimes say, well, at one point maybe Jesus will, I'll let him in there.

But right now, you know, I've got rain over this. And all the time it's a future thing. The kingdom, people who believe in kingdom theology believe that the kingdom, while not all the way here because it's still in heaven, we have access to it today. And so you live as if the kingdom exists today. So when you pray for someone who is sick, you pray as if they can be healed.

Today, when you read the word and live into word, God's word, you live as if that word is true and you live into it. Today we believe that we have that dunamis Holy Spirit power that is available today. Now, another thing that many pe people teach is that kingdom was only available to the apostles. It's called dispensationalism.

It was dispensed for the apostles, but it's not for us. I don't believe that. I believe that believers are meant, all believers have access to the full power and the full goodness and richness of God's power to day in all ways. We see it in the scripture. So the first thing to do is to take on that kingdom mindset. Jesus says in Matthew six, six, your kingdom come, or six 10, your what, your will be done.

It is. Now Jesus lived in a now kingdom and he calls believers to now live in a now kingdom. I I can't, I came up with this little phrase that I was thinking about, how do I say this? And I think it really impacted me this week, this phrase, I-I-I-I-I, I crafted it for you, but it tended to speak to me. And it said this, expand his kingdom, not your comfort zone.

Expand his kingdom, not your comfort zone, man. Am I good at expanding my comfort zone? It's all about the comfort zone, right? The comfort zone of, of when I get my time off the comfort zone of when I actually do my benevolent work. It was Friday and I was off and I get a, you know, I'm like, oh, I get Friday off and get that go.

Just do whatever I do and relax. And I get this text. Hey, I'm a friend of a, a friend that you know, and, um, they said that I, you know, my keys, I went, I went scuba diving in it and my keys were in my pocket and now my car is stuck and can you help me fix my car? I was a really good friend from England, texted me that my friend from England is here and I'm like, Ooh, I do a lot of benevolent work during the week.

I don't really know. And, and I got my phone set up so you won't know if I read your text or not. So he, I know he didn't see that. I read it and, and I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm in that gap, right? What do you do? What do you do in that moment, because I got this comfort zone and I don't know this person, well end up, I ended up going and I'm thinking, oh, this could be a three, four hour thing, right?

He's gotta get his car towed. Like, ah, afternoon gone. And I just kept asking myself this question like, am I gonna expand God's kingdom or is this gonna get, am I gonna allow God to get into my comfort zone? One of the things that I, that I'm really good at is having a lot of God stuff that I can feel good about myself. But then there, there's these other little areas that are corded off, right?

And that cordoned off bid. I don't want to give him, I'm in a hurry that's cordoned off when I have something more important than the thing that you come up and think is, it should be more important to me. We want to expand his kingdom, not our comfort zone. This week, I want you to think about your comfort zone. I want you to think about that me time that you have.

I want you to think about your me finance. I want you to think about the, the, you know, the things that are just, hey, I'm looking, you know, that thing that I'm building. We, we tend to want to build more and more space for ourselves, more space for our own personal enjoyment, more space with our finance to buy the things that we want to buy.

I mean, what would it look like if you said, Hey, I've got this new car that I want to get and instead of getting the new car, it's gonna cost me 600 for a year. I'm gonna take that 600, I'm gonna give it to, you know, an orphan. I'm gonna do some transformational giving. We always seem to be able to find the money for the car, right?

Almost always, you know, we'll put it on credit, we'll do whatever we, we will bend over backwards to expand our comfort zone. We see here that Jesus Christ is taking reign and his kingdom is being expanded and he wants to partner with people who want to expand his kingdom. That is the incredible journey of the gospel of Jesus Christ that he speaks about.

So that's the first thing. Embrace a kingdom mindset. Have you embraced a kingdom mindset? That's what you see happening. These elders have a kingdom mindset. All they're looking for is more territory to give to Jesus, more territory in their life. To give to Jesus more space. Encroach upon my free time. God, I want to throw my crowns down.

I wanna say that you are worthy. I want to kiss your feet, Lord Jesus. That is a kingdom mindset, and you'll know when you have it. The second one is this, join the eternal chorus. Go to verse 16 and the 24 elders who were seated on their thrones before God fell on their faces and worship God saying, we give thanks to you, Lord God Almighty, the one who is and who was, because you have taken your great power and you have begun to reign a a couple things I like is the reigning happens.

They, they experience the reigning of Christ after they fall on their face. The humility of God. This is one of the reasons we we do fasting that fast was humbling. How about y'all? If you enjoy it, if you went on it that fast was humbling. I realized how much I depend on my little, you know, stop at Starbucks. The Christmas drinks came out, right?

We all know the Christmas drinks came out. There's a prey lean one I really like, dude, they had that like pumpkin cold brew thing right during November, horrible time. That's my favorite time for the drinks. And I realized I'd be like almost depressed. Like, ah, can't have my pumpkin, sweet cream, cold brew. Like, ah. And it was just humbling.

It was really humbling to me. And, and, and, and the, the, the fasting does humble us. One of these things that these elders do is they're constantly humbling themselves before God, putting themselves before God and saying, I am nothing. I've just realized my own mortality as of late as I've watched other people or friends of mine that have gotten sick.

I realize, you know, what is it a stroke away from my entire life being changed when you start putting all your, your hope into your abilities or things like that, I just wanna humble myself before Jesus. That is one of the fir the first things with praise if you want to have to, to join the eternal chorus. When you sing, you begin to humble yourself before God.

Every day. Humble yourself before God. It says that he who humbles himself before God will be lifted up, then he will lift you up. I want to say when Christ lifts you up, it's like the way I used to lift my daughter up. I'd pick 'em up and I would like pick 'em up and I'd throw 'em up and they'd go way higher than they ever would've gone in their lives.

I would pick 'em up with joy and I'd send them up and catch 'em, put 'em on my shoulders. That's what God wants to do. When you humble yourself, he wants to lift you up. He wants to put you on his shoulders and say, look at what the view looks like from there. And so we see that, and I put here that make gratitude. Then after you humble yourself, make gratitude your posture and worship a natural response, you get triggered.

We use that word a lot in our culture these days. Joe likes that word. Joe loves the word I triggered. Triggered. I got triggered. You get triggered, I get triggered. What happens is when there's a trigger, we tend to have a response that's response is learned and it's solidified. It's actually solidified in your neuro pathways.

I wanna I wanna tell you something. Whether you think it's true or not, you can change the response. You have the ability that when you're triggered to go to a different place besides anger, frustration, upsetness, you know, I was, uh, in a small group and I love my small group. I have the most awesome small group. If you're a parent of a junior high or a senior high student, uh, middle school, uh, come join us.

It's amazing. And one of the persons said, you know, one of my trigger responses, I immediately go into character judgment. So I'm just really good at like judging someone else's character, just kind of boom. I just kinda lay it all out there. You know, one comment and I can understand your entire life from that one comment you made.

You know, we get triggered, right? I think one time. The thing is understanding when you're triggered, when something happens, what is, when, what, what puts you at your worst? And when that happens, what do you do? You know, you can change that. The, the response of these elders when tribulation was happening, really bad things were happening, was to bow down, humble himself and sing praise to Jesus Christ.

I mean, you look at it, there's no reason really in our mindset to be praising God in the midst of all this bad stuff. You just had a bunch of trumpets. You just had three woes that have been blown. All this bad stuff's happening. And what is their triggered response? Fall down on our face, cast our crowns before Jesus and sing out to him that he is worthy.

It says the nation's wr. Go to verse 18. The nations were angry and your wrath has come. The time has come for judging the world and for rewarding the servants and the prophets of your people who revere your name, destroying the enemies who destroy the earth. And it says, then what? I love this. We'll just end with this, then the temple in heaven was opened.

Then the temple was opened and within the temple was seen the arc of his covenant. There came flashes of lightning, rumblings, PR, peels of thunder, earthquake and severe hair, severe hailstorm. I wanna say there's certain things God wants to reveal to you. And if you do not live in a posture of humility and in a posture of worship and thanksgiving, you'll never see them.

God wants to reveal things to you. He wants to walk you around like you know the children of God. We are by the hand and say, Hey, I want to show you something. Like you tell him if you're a parent, you take your toddler and for the first time ever they see an elephant and they're like, oh elephant. You know, that's what God wants to do.

And as you worship, as you have this posture of worship, we begin to change. And God begins to reveal things to you. Is it is revelation, it is breakthrough. So two things that are takeaways. First one is, embrace a kingdom mindset. This week just be really aware when hey, this is a comfort zone thing and I probably need a little less comfort zone, right?

Um, and then the second one is, embrace a posture of worship. Join the angels. Join, you know, make that a triggered response. Make worship, humility, gratitude, and worship. Just the triggered response. See when that moment comes, when you're like, I'm gonna say and stop and then say, Jesus, I worship you, Jesus I worship. I humble myself. I worship you. Will you lift me up?

Just that easy, that quick. Try that on Wednesday and see if it changes your life. Alright, let's stand if you would.
